New Los Angeles Outdoor Watering Requirements

Hello Los Angeles Resident,

Hopefully you’ll find the attached KNBC Channel 4 video newsclip informative—and you’ll get to see me interviewed in front of our home in Hancock Park. Starting June 1, the City of Los Angeles will limit outdoor watering to two days a week. If your street address ends in an odd number, you may water Mondays and Fridays, and customers with addresses ending in an even number may water Thursday and Sundays, before 9 am or after 4 pm. Sprinklers are limited to 8 minutes per station.

The LA Department of Water and Power is offering rebates to replace lawns with sustainable, low water-use landscapes. Whether or not we eventually call in a landscape architect, let’s work with these new guidelines so we can keep our lawns beautiful, and protect the value of our homes!
