This is one of the poet saint Amir Khusro's popular compositions. Kutle Khan sang it with aplomb this was a song that was signed off by Neel Adhikari the music director and Avinash Chordia our head of studio after one take past midnight.


In the winter of 2010, The Peninsula Studios reached out and recorded 722 musicians from small villages and towns from Rajasthan. A jury of 32 well known musicians evaluated over 3600 minutes of field recordings.


A team led by Avinash Chordia our Head of Studio, Neel Adhikari the music director, Nitin Kurup and Deepak Samson mentored 17 musicians over 3 months in the summer of 2011. Narinder Tawakley provided logistics support and Shankar was the studio technician.


These great performers then worked together to produce a world class recording of ten great songs.


These tracks were mixed and mastered in London by Miti Adhikari for a music album with 10 tracks for Nokia Music Theatre, Discovery of the Peninsula published in the spring of 2012 by Universal Music Group.


Ananya Rane our Head of Films worked with Salman Usmani in November of 2012 who brought this album to life as an AV with Ravi who edited the videos.


The musicians now perform live as Mast Qalandars of The Peninsula Studios in major concerts, get more recordings and performance opportinitues, and find patrons for their talent both in India and overseas. #MusicChangesLives.


Nokia continues, taking this music to the world as "Nokia Music Theatre".


This program was led by Subroto Chattopadhyay, Sita Raina, Avinash Chordia, Ananya Rane, Narinder Tawakley Co founders of TPS supported by Aishwarya Natarajan, Varun Narain and Sakhi Saraf.


This presentation is curated and produced by Sita Raina, Subroto Chattopadhyay and the team of The Peninsula Studios as our tribute to the great poets, saints and singers of Rajasthan.
