The kidneys are the most vital organs in our body, and poor kidney function leads to renal failure. The primary goal of a renal failure diet is to maintain a healthy balance of electrolytes, fluids, and minerals in the body. However, when a person has kidney failure, their levels of creatinine and other waste materials rise. Therefore, a renal patient must limit salty foods, regulate protein consumption, limit potassium-rich foods, and keep fluid intake.
Potassium is a vital component of the human body. It aids in the regulation of fluid balance, muscular contractions, and nerve transmissions. The appropriate amount of potassium is kept in your body by healthy kidneys. However, the kidneys may not be able to eliminate excess potassium if the level is too high. As a result, potassium levels in your blood may become too high. Therefore, we should limit potassium intake for a kidney failure patient to 2000 mg per day.
Choose fruits that are low in potassium to keep your potassium levels low. This includes pineapple, apple, Jamun, peach, pear, cherry, muskmelon, strawberry, and watermelon. One cup of fruit per day is the serving size for these fruits. Banana, kiwi, and citrus fruits are high in potassium, so avoid them. Pineapple and lemon are exceptions. Just keep in mind that you can consume high-potassium fruits in moderation. On the other hand, a fruit with a lot of potassium might become a high potassium fruit. Potassium deficiency can result in dangerous symptoms such as an irregular pulse or a heart attack.
Patients with kidney disease must eat a protein-free diet. Improving proteinuria, controlling blood pressure, and slowing the progression of renal failure are all advantages of a protein-restricted diet. Eggs, seafood, dairy products, and meats are all high in protein. Patients with renal failure should eat low-potassium fruits and vegetables. The patient requires the restriction. Avocado, dates, bananas, kiwis, and high potassium root and leafy vegetables such as potato, sweet potato, arbi, beetroot, turnip, spinach, cauliflower, and methi, cabbage, and coriander, are high in potassium. Patients with normal potassium levels can eat potato after it has been leached, while those with high potassium levels should avoid it. Though eating ghiya, torai, and tinda lowers creatinine levels. It also makes patients weaker. To keep the quantities of waste material in the kidney failure patient's body in check, we recommend that they stick to a well-balanced diet.

We encourage patients to address the underlying causes of renal failure to improve kidney function. In addition, patients are encouraged to restore kidney health with the help of kidney function restoration treatment because our kidneys have an innate potential to boost their performance (KFRT).
