How to plan your trip to Harihar fort trek :)

Nearest railway station to Harihar Fort is Nashik Road railway station.

12617(MANGLADWEEP exp) runs daily from Ernakulam to Delhi via Nashik.

If you are coming with a group you may take a taxi directly to Trimbak from Nashik railway station.(time saving)

Nashik Road bus stand is just outside Nashik railway station, you can get share taxi to Trimbak or take bus to Nashik CBS bus stand from here.

From Nashik road bus stand you have to reach Nashik CBS stand.(9.5km, 30 mins)

From Nashik CBS bus stand you will get bus to Trimbak. (28km, 40 mins)

Harihart fort can be trekked from two villages, Harshewadi, and Nirgudpada. Both villages don't have good stay options. If you have a tent you can pitch your tent in both villages, you will get food there.

If you are coming with 3 or 4 persons, stay at Trimbak and next day take an auto/taxi to Harshewadi, taxi will wait for you. From Harshewadi you can see other people walking on the trail. Visit Harihar Fort and get back to Trimbak on same taxi. It's always better to trek from Harshewadi. Nirgudpada route is a bit confusing.

If you are alone or just two guys, stay at Trimbak and next day take share taxi/bus to Nirgudpada. From Nirgudapa you will see other trekkers going to Harihar fort. You can follow them or you can call a child from Nirgudpada village; he will guide you through the confusing forest section. Just give him some money for his service :)
***Route is a bit confusing from Nirgudpada. Don't go alone. You may get lost.

You will get so many budget stay options at Trimbak. It's better to stay at Trimbak.

BRO TIPS :)

It's a monsoon trek. Plastic covers (from home) are highly recommended to cover your belongings from rain. Bring back plastic covers safely home :)

Get rain cover for bag and waterproof pouch for mobile

Don't wear trekking shoes for monsoon treks; sandals or lightweight sports shoes(easy to dry) with good grip are best option. Good grip is very, very necessary.

----------------------------------

Harihar fort can be visited round the year.

June to September : Best time, monsoon season. Everywhere you can see green color.

September to October : Post-monsoon. Green color will reduce gradually. The afternoons will be hot. Best time after monsoon. You will get clear views.

November to January : Winter season. You can't see the green color. The weather will be good, but the place won't look good.

February to April : Summer, avoid this time.

May : Pre monsoon period, if you see rain in Google weather forecast, good to go.
