Midland ER50 / ER40 AM FM Emergency Alert Weather Radio Review

The new Midland ER50 AM FM NOAA Weather Alert Emergency Portable Radio is a welcome upgrade from their previous model, the ER210. A Flashlight that is more useful indoors, Improved Antenna, Easy to Use Buttons, and a Larger Display. A solid performer when you need an Emergency radio to Hold its Own.

Features I like about the new ER50:
Larger LCD.
Larger Buttons.
Replaceable 18650 Protected Button Top Battery.
Listen to FM or AM while Weather Alert Mode is Active.
Backlight can be turned Off, or Always On.
Wider Beam Flashlight with a Warmer Color.
FM Reception is well Above Average.
Twelve or Twenty-Four Hour Clock.
NOAA Reception is Above Average.
Headphone Jack.
Improved Telescopic Antenna.
Evening AM is Decent.
Water Resistant Jacket over the Charging Ports.

Features that could be Added or Improved on:
Daytime AM Reception.
Improve Speaker Audio.

Overall, this radio gets a solid recommendation from me. It is well built, and has everything you require in an Emergency Weather Radio. Invest in a couple extra batteries, and you're set.
