Think-Aloud Patching | Session 1 - Buchla 200e

Описание к видео Think-Aloud Patching | Session 1 - Buchla 200e

Part 1 of a series of 'think-aloud' sessions, designed to capture 'reflections-in-action' as I'm building modular synthesis patches on a variety of systems. This video forms part of a research project aimed at analysing the practice of modular synthesis patching, contextualising my compositional approach with theories of material engagement, and Gilbert Simondon's philosophy of technology. In particular, I am interested in the process of 'concretisation' that occurs in the development of a modular synthesis patch, and the way in which musical intentions, and human and material agency co-evolve with a machine that grows in complexity and interconnectedness throughout a patching session.
