Slängpolska - Scandi Folk Nerd #2

Emelie Waldken provides a basis about slängpolska : what it is, where to find it, how to make the difference from "regular" polska and how to play it with good swing. SLÄNGPOLSKA (also called "polonäs" or "slängis") is a type of POLSKA to be differenciated from "REGULAR" POLSKA. Slängpolska are very usual in the South-East of Sweden : Skåne, Småland, Östergötaland, Gotland, and especially Södermanland (Sörmland), with a good concentration in Mörkö.

Bowing techniques to practice slängpolska :
- "WO-A WO-A" to get the swing, with the light backbeat
- "TI-A-TA-TA" : bowing pattern for 16th-notes
- "TI-A-TI-A" : other (less) common pattern for 16th-notes
