Brunello di Montalcino DOCG Riserva, Casato Prime Donne, Donatella Cinelli Colombini

All Brunello wine is able to last in bottle for many years; the Brunello Riserva version is born for very long cellaring. Donatella Cinelli Colombini produces Brunello Riserva at Casato Prime Donne winery, in Montalcino, Tuscany, only in the best vintages, choosing by hand a small quantity of absolutely perfect Sangiovese grapes.

The grapes usually come from a specific vineyard called Ardita on the highest point of the vineyards around the estate.

Casato Prime Donne belonged to Donatella Cinelli Colombini’s ancestors already at the end of the 16th century. In the nineteenth century it was used as a hunting lodge and for honeymoons, and, for four centuries it has never been sold but has been passed down the line from one generation to another. Since 1998, the cellar became the first Italian winery staffed entirely by women; these include three wine makers, the cellar staff, the sales office staff and the hospitality team. Each year it is produced, the Brunello Riserva reaches International success by getting high ratings from the most important specialized international winepress, thanks to its quality.

This fine red wine has a ruby red colour that in time becomes garnet and in the glass the movement is slow thanks to the richness in noble components. A refined, complex aroma with balsamic and spicy hints as well as a net nuance of red berries, complete the elegant and persistent taste in the mouth. The robust tannic structure is perfectly balanced by the alcohol content and the fruit. The best food pairings are with aged cheese and important meat dishes, with a rich and intense taste.
