Fins & Things | Jeep Badge of Honor |

Fins & Things begins day 2 of our Moab adventure and is our second Jeep Badge of Honor trail from Utah. Portions of this trail are open only during daylight hours, which they deem as 30 minutes after sunrise and 30 minutes before sunset. So plan accordingly and leave yourself enough time in the day to finish, don't get a really late start!!

Fortunately for us we had plenty of time. You must enter the sand flats recreation area to ride a few trails in the area so be prepared to pay at the gatehouse (they accept card and cash), if the gatehouse is closed there are envelopes to fill out with your information and pay with cash and a slot to drop them into.

The views on this trail, like most all the others, are gorgeous and pictures and video absolutely don't do them justice. The name fins & things is said to come from the Navajo sandstone slickrock fins you see everywhere that formed starting millions of years ago from the sand dunes. The "things" are the debris and stuff now coming off of the fins as they deteriorate and begin to blow sand around. Don't miss this amazing trail on your next Moab trip.
