Ask the Equestrian: Jesse Drent

A Dutch Equestrian and an inspirational author, Jesse Drent from an early age, explored a different approach to working and communicating with horses, true to their natural behaviour. He bought his first Equine companion, ‘Andorra’, at the age of 12 and from that moment, Jesse's path was set; he educated himself on horse behaviour, health, wellbeing and the development of the Equine and was guided by a profound passion for these magnificent animals. At the heart of Jesse's philosophy lies an unwavering commitment to continual learning and adaptation and he believes that by remaining open-minded, one can better understand and cater to the individual needs of each horse encountered along the way.

This dedication to positivity has not only transformed Jesse's approach to horsemanship but has also fostered profound connections with both horses and fellow Equestrians. Alongside his incredible team which includes, Andorra, Macho, Antares and Gaio and having perfected his trick training, through his unique relationship with horses, Jesse performs regularly at shows throughout Europe, gaining the name “the Dutch horse whisperer”. Performing at many equestrian arenas, spreading their message of unity and positivity, Jesse provides a helping hand to others embarking on their own Equestrian adventures as well.

Jesse is also an entrepreneur and founder of ‪@horseworldtv‬. His brand ‘Nalanta’ and his two books incorporate his knowledge and experience. Nalanta is a testament to Jesse’s unwavering devotion to Equine welfare. With every product crafted, he ensures that the horse's best interest remains at the forefront. Through Nalanta, Jesse aims to unite the diverse equestrian community, highlighting the true essence of working with horses and the boundless passion that drives them forward. Jesse's enthusiasm for Nalanta knows no bounds. The success of the brand thus far has left Jesse feeling incredibly fortunate and eager to see what the future holds.

Equine Mastery was delighted to engage in an interesting discussion with Jesse, on the importance of bitless riding and to highlight his remarkable journey through the world of horses, where positivity and unwavering dedication reign supreme. Let us celebrate the transformative power of Equine connections and the profound joy they bring to our lives.
