Foreskin issues in adults can include phimosis, paraphimosis, balanitis, posthitis, and balanoposthitis. Symptoms include pain, swelling, itching, discharge, and difficulty moving the foreskin.

Paraphimosis is a common urologic emergency that occurs in uncircumcised males when the foreskin becomes trapped behind the corona of the glans penis. This can lead to strangulation of the glans and painful vascular compromise, distal venous engorgement, edema, and even necrosis.

It's not a good idea to try to treat paraphimosis by yourself. You might be able to squeeze the tip of your penis to shrink swelling and allow the foreskin to slip back over it. But you can cause damage if you force it.

Paraphimosis is a urologic emergency that requires immediate medical care. Treatment focuses on reducing swelling and returning the foreskin to its normal position. Here are some common treatment approaches:
Compression: A doctor may use manual techniques to reduce swelling and gently pull the foreskin back over the glans.

Slowly pull the foreskin back over the glans
Other treatments
Use ice packs or penile wraps to reduce swelling
Use osmotic agents like granulated sugar or mannitol to reduce swelling
Use hyaluronidase to increase fluid diffusion
Make a slit in the foreskin
Perform circumcision surgery
Paraphimosis can be dangerous if left untreated and can cause tissue damage, tissue death, or permanent damage.
