Karim Lakhani, Dorothy and Michael Hintze Professor of Business Administration at Harvard Business School and Chair of the Digital Data Design Institute at Harvard, is joined by Derek “MixedByAli” Ali to discuss the future of AI in music. They explore the challenges of creating music, the evolution of technology, and the relationship between music producers and AI.

Derek “MixedByAli” Ali is a four-time GRAMMY award-wining recording and mixing engineer, based in Los Angeles, California. A Forbes 30-under-30 recipient in 2016 and globally-recognized audio guru, Ali’s global acclaim and various accolades stem from his contributions to impactful records such as ‘The Box’ by Roddy Rich, ‘This Is America’ by Donald Glover, and Kendrick Lamar’s ‘Alright’  and ‘Humble.’ An accomplished entrepreneur, Ali spent more than two years developing and founding EngineEars, a vertical software platform for artists, audio engineers, recording studios, producers, and record labels, facilitating discovery, payments, project management, and distribution solutions.
