Severn Valley Railway - ‘Spring Diesel Festival’ 2024 - 4K

The mid weekend in may is always a favourite in the railway calendar, as it was the annual Severn Valley Railway’s - Spring Diesel Festival. Being held over the course of 4 days from Thursday 16th may - Sunday 19th of may. 

Filmed over the course of 3 days and walking well over 35 miles on foot a lot of effort has gone into creating this film..

There was to be an exclusive and impressive lineup in attendance to suit everybody’s diesel fix, modern traction right back to the days of heritage traction.

Locomotive classes attending the gala were to be classes: 14,17,20,33,37,40,43,46,50,52,59,70 & 73 - IMPRESSIVE!


I’d only opted to film the heritage side of things as the modern locos aren’t that much of an interest to me. I’d chosen locations where they’d be working fairly hard giving the diesel fans the ‘Thrash’ & the ‘tones’.




I’d recommend watching the video the whole way through as there isn’t a ‘best’ part to my film.. all shots featured have the locos working well.

It was an absolute pleasure catching up with ‪@mcttrains‬ aswell after so long :)

There is PLENTY of class 37 thrash in this video too, if you like your 37’s :)
