Story Start

Mohan age 30 - (getting worried) Mom, Kinjal, I don't think that all this land is going to be saved now...if you ask me, we should find some other place in this water with the help of something...because the rain won't stop...

Kinjal age 28 - (running outside with Rakhi) Listen, our house is covered with water and rain...it's good that I brought Rakhi, otherwise we could have been hurt...(opening our eyes wide) What is all this? Mohan ji, the rain is getting so intense that this land is going to drown now?

Ganga Age 50 - (Worried while explaining) Yes daughter in law, it seems impossible to control the rain water now…

Narration - Mohan heard someone shouting from behind, after hearing which no one stood on that ground again… In the heavy rain, people went away from the ground into the water with the help of whatever they could find… After some time the water reached their houses too and all the land became a part of the water… This is the story of a village without land where there was no land but only water…people had found some land to live on but that too got destroyed with today's rain…now everyone was on water with the help of planks and sticks…it was raining heavily, everyone's farm resources, everything had been taken away, there was no paved road, no paved house and there was no trace of land. Everyone was just bearing the destruction of this rain with the courage within them.

Suchitra age 50 - (asking) Ganga where will we find a place now…? Today's rain came like the rain of that dark night which swept away all our houses…

Ganga age 50 - (worried) who knows where we will find a place…maybe the government will take some steps for us…

Suchitra age 50 - (making a face) will any step be taken? Our village is not even counted in any count, then what steps will the people take?

Mohan Age 30 - (telling) Mom, Kinjal and everyone else, I have heard that there are some people like us living near the trees some distance from here… Let's go there, maybe we can get some help…

Narration - Everyone got hopeful after listening to Mohan that their lives will be saved… Mohan was in the front of everyone and all the people of the village were following him… In a short while they reached a place where there were a lot of trees… There were stairs below the trees and on top of the trees people had wooden houses, nests and leaf houses…

Mohan Age 30 - (telling) We are the residents of this landless place…with great difficulty we got a high and empty land to live here on which we built our home but fate snatched everything from us in one stroke…today's rain brought the water level of the rivers so high that our land got submerged…

Saurabh Age 30 - (feeling sad) Hmm I can understand…what is the pain of losing land…don't know when we unlucky people will get land…you know just like today, years ago there was similar
