Sit-At-Home-Order: "South East Is Terrorized By People With Igbo Blood In Them"—Francis Chilaka

Some regions of the southeast of Nigeria have seen an increase in violence associated with IPOB for more than three years. As days and weeks of sit-at-home protests have been called in the area, there have been a number of attacks on people, allegedly carried out by IPOB leader Nnamdi Kano and other proxies.

A region with a history of business and industry is currently challenged by rising instability. Attacks on defenceless Nigerians have occasionally resulted in fatalities as well as the destruction of commercial properties.

The security situation in the area is still quite unstable, despite the fact that certain state administrations have resisted and fought these assailants, who have in the past besieged police stations and slain security personnel. With Nnamdi Kanu, still in detention, the sensitivity of this security problem demands immediate solutions
