First I will say both sides of the conversation to demonstrate. You can repeat after me or just listen.

Second, I will say the white half of the conversation (left side of screen), and pause for you to respond with the purple half.

Third, you will say the white half and I will say the purple half.

Sentence Practice:

This is a format for making many sentences. I give you three examples...create more sentences yourself to practice! Write the sentences you create in the comments and I'll respond. :)

Here are the conversations:

Conversation with Friends:

Hey, have you heard from Tasha?
No, I’m so worried about her.
The earthquake was near her house.
She’s not answering her phone.
Let me call her mom.
Ok, let me know what you find out.

Phone Call:

Hello?
Hey, where are you?
I’m stuck in traffic. There is a hurricane evacuation.
Oh, ok. How far out are you?
I’m probably about an hour away.
Ok. Just drive safe.

At the Airport:

Hello, do you have an update on the flight?
What flight number?
Flight 873 to New Orleans.
I’m sorry sir, but your flight has been cancelled.
What? Why?
All flights in that area were cancelled due to the hurricane.

Shopping:

Excuse me, can you help me?
Of course! What do you need?
Where is the plywood?
I’m sorry. We’re sold out.
Really? Why?
The hurricane is coming so everyone is covering their windows.

Sentence Practice:

Did you hear about the __________ in ________?

Did you hear about the flood in North Carolina?
Did you hear about the hurricane in Texas?
Did you hear about the earthquake in Chile?
