Indonesia Vlog | A Muslim Traveler’s Day in Bali’s Rice Fields & Monkey Forest
In today’s Indonesia vlog, I take you with me on an unforgettable journey through the heart of Bali, where I explore the breathtaking rice terraces of Ubud, enjoy an authentic Indonesian breakfast, and visit the famous Monkey Forest. This is one of the best days I’ve had since arriving in Indonesia, and I’m so excited to show you a more peaceful and raw side of this beautiful country—especially from the eyes of a Muslim traveler.
We started the day with a classic Indonesian breakfast overlooking lush green rice fields. We had smoothie bowls made with fresh fruits and coconut milk, paired with fluffy pancakes—it was so fresh and tasty, a perfect way to begin a day in Bali, Indonesia. The view of the rice paddies while enjoying breakfast was truly surreal. We left a small tip for the staff at the café and made Remy smile—it’s the little things that make travel memorable.
After breakfast, we took a taxi deeper into Ubud’s famous rice terraces. Before heading in, I bought a traditional Balinese rice field hat for just 75,000 IDR—such a great deal and perfect for the hot sun! With the hat on, we entered the fields and soaked in the stunning views. These rice fields in Bali are a must-see for anyone visiting Indonesia.
Next, we tried out two different cafes to find the best view for a quick break. We finally settled on one with an infinity pool and panoramic views of the rice terraces. We sipped on fresh coconut water and apple juice while taking it all in—one of those peaceful moments that make you fall in love with Bali.
Then came one of the most fun (and heart-racing) parts of the day: the famous rice field swing! Although we were nervous, we took the swing ride together and it was absolutely thrilling. I highly recommend trying this swing experience in Bali—it’s one of the best things to do for adventure lovers and Instagram-worthy moments in Indonesia.
After the swing, we explored the area more, walked through the rice fields, took some beautiful pictures, and admired all the unique stalls and local crafts made for tourists. It was truly a one-of-a-kind experience you don’t want to miss when visiting Bali.
Later, we returned to our apartment, relaxed, and had a delicious bowl of halal Indonesian noodles for lunch—perfect for Muslim travelers trying to keep it halal while exploring Bali. The flavors were so rich and satisfying.
In the evening, I headed out solo to the Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary in Ubud. This peaceful forest is home to hundreds of monkeys, and I spent time observing their playful nature, how they interact, and simply enjoying the calm and natural vibe of the jungle. It was quiet, serene, and a great way to wind down the day.
