RULES:
The object of the game is to have the fewest points and the object of each round is to be the first player to get rid of all the cards in your hand. Be aware that there are many variations and house rules to this game, so you should agree on them before starting.

Shuffle a standard 52 card deck of playing cards and each player picks one card. The player with the lowest card becomes the dealer. King is high and ace is low. The dealer shuffles the deck and deals 5 cards 1 at a time to each player. Players look at their own cards but keep them hidden from their opponents. The dealer places the deck facedown to form a draw deck and discards the top card to start the discard pile. If the flipped card is an 8, the 8 is to the deck and a new card is flipped.

The player to the left of the dealer goes first, then play proceeds clockwise. On your turn you must play a single card onto the discard pile that matches either the rank or suit of the top card. The only exception to this is an 8. 8’s are wild and can be played on anything. When you play an eight, pick a suit. The next card played must either match the picked suit or be another 8.

If you are unable to play, then you must draw cards from the draw deck until you can play or once you have drawn 5 cards, whichever comes. Once a player gets rid of all of their cards, the round is over and points are tallied. Player’s receive points based on the cards remaining in their hand. 8s are worth 50 points. Face cards are worth 10 points. Numbered cards are worth their face value, and aces are worth 1.

Gather up all the cards and the role of dealer rotates clockwise by one. Once 1 player has 100 points or more, the game ends and the player with the fewest points wins.
