Filmed on Sunday, September 8 2024, I drive around Marion, IL to see what's going on. I was REALLY impressed by their town square. Wow. A fountain in a town square is rare enough, and Marion had more than just a fountain - it was a full blown fountain show with music. But what I appreciated even more than that was the number of HUGE murals painted on their buildings. That really adds to a visitor's experience. I have been to hundreds of small towns and it's very rare for a small town to put in this much effort just for the sake of beauty. Bravo!

Marion was named for Revolutionary War hero General Francis Marion.
