Here are some details of how these rankings came about.

WHO:
common denominator: wrestled in AEW shows
excluded are wrestlers (and their matches) who retired: AQA, Awesome Kong, Nicole Savoy
excluded are wrestlers (and their matches) who left the company or were let go with no role in this active roster: Bea Priestley, Big Swole, Brandi Rhodes, Ivelisse, Shanna
also you won’t find some bigger names like Allysin Kay, Heidi Howitzer, Lady Frost, Maki Itoh, Max the Impaler, Mei Suruga, Miranda Alize, Queen Aminata, Priscilla Kelly, Session Moth Martinez, Shoko Nakajima, Trish Adora, VENY because the never actually had a singles win in AEW
Miyu Yamashita won a match against Thunder Rosa in TJPW to face her in AEW, but since it wasn’t on an AEW show it can’t count
on the other hand, ROH shows since AEW baught them count (which are only two: Supercard of Honor 2022 and Death Before Dishonor 2022), therefore Mercedes Martinez vs. Serena Deeb plays a factor in the rankings
and even if Rebel (Reba) won two matches in Dark hhows, those were „actual“ dark matches, not shown on Youtube and can’t be included (yet)

HOW:
this isn’t a yearly ranking, but an all-time AEW ranking
only 1-on-1 singles matches count in this system, f.e. no Four Way Matches, because of the question how to integrate them, and, if those even mean as much as direct 1-on-1 matches
in general I worked from the bottom to the top: if you have „won“ in AEW, you are part of the rankings. If you have won against wrestlers who themselves have achieved a victory, you are automatically ranked higher. Those are wins over „ranked competitors“ and not „non-ranked competitors“.
sometimes in close decisions direct duels help to establish who ranks infront of whom, but the variations of number of matches, big wins, big losses etc. often don’t make this a clear cut. That’s why some wrestlers are infront of others even though they lost to them.

I also included the biggest losses in this „algorithm“, but not in the graphics to avoid cluttering. Especially if I have to balance wrestlers with just a couple of matches with those who have been very active. Newer wrestlers like Toni Storm, Athena or those who take breaks to compete in Japan like Riho get a different approach than those, who pretty much faced everyone.
