Shankar Mahadevan is one of the most successful singers and musicians India has witnessed in recent times. Belonging to the Tamil Iyer family, his inclination towards Hindustani classical and Carnatic music was obvious. His birth in Chembur, Maharashtra and his fluency in Tamil, Marathi and Hindi helped him in landing assignments within all these established film industries.

The musical journey for Shankar Mahadevan started at the early age of 4. While visiting his uncle’s house, he laid his hands on Harmonium and started playing. He learnt to play Veena by the age of 5. The inclination towards music didn’t stop him to get a degree in Engineering in Computer Science. He had a brief stint working in the software industry but his love of music prevailed and forced him to venture into music.
His first notable performance came in the form of the eponymous track of his first album Breathless released in the year 1998. Since then, there has been no looking back for Shankar delivering strong performances one after another. His powerful voice and years of hard work in learning classical music have certainly helped him in hitting notes that leave the audiences amazed. As a composer, Shankar Mahadevan believes that there is still a vast scope of experimentation with classical music in movies. Being part of the trio Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, these musicians feel that it's their inherent responsibility to acquaint Indian audiences with Carnatic music. There songs like ‘Mitwa’, ‘Sapno se bhare Naina’ are a few examples of such experimentations.
Mahadevan has worked with all the established musicians across all the film industries. His performances have earned him 4 national awards for playback singing.
Mahesh Kale is an accomplished vocalist of the new generation with a captivating stage presence, that has along with his uncommon musicality and vocal dexterity, positioned him firmly on the national and international radar of the North Indian Classical Music community. As a disciple of Pandit Jitendra Abhisheki, he has an illustrious pedigree, and his thrilling performances bear this out.

His training under this doyen has not only made him a brilliant classical vocalist, but has also made him equally proficient at Thumri, Dadra, Tappa, Bhajans, Bhavgeet, and Natyasangeet. He was initiated into music by his mother Smt. Meenal Kale (a disciple of Smt. Veena Sahasrabuddhe) presently continues to receive guidance from Shri. Shounak Abhisheki.

Mahesh has established his presence firmly, as a popular artist and has performed extensively in India, USA, Europe, UAE, and Southeast Asia. Mahesh has been playing the central character in a popular Sangeet Natak (musical), Katyar Kaljat Ghusli (Photos), for which, he was honoured with an award by the Akhil Bharatiya Marathi Natya Parishad (2010). Mahesh had his debut performance at the prestigious Sawai Gandharva Music Festival (2011) which received a generous appreciation.

Mahesh maintains an open outlook towards music to reach out to the new generation while retaining the traditions. He has performed with world-famous percussionists including Zakir Hussain, Trilok Gurtu and Sivamani, and instrumentalists like Pedro Eustache and Frank Martin, in fusion and collaborative works, ably demonstrating his versatility as a composer and singer.
