H.E Sam Rainsy, a former president of the Cambodian National Rescue Party (CNRP), is a charismatic leader with a strong purpose and strong convictions to bring democracy to Cambodia.

Though, the current Cambodian government lead by Hun Sen gone extra length to assassinate Sam Rainsy’s political career, by forced him out of the country, create ridicules law which forced him to resigned from Party president, but Sam Rainsy never abandon his strong purpose and strong convictions to bring democracy to Cambodia.

According to the Human Rights Watch, “Prime Minister Hun Sen and his ruling Cambodian People’s Party (CPP) significantly escalated persecution on political grounds, targeting Cambodia’s political opposition, human rights workers, social activists, and public intellectuals on the basis of their real or perceived political opposition to the government and its leader. These abuses appeared aimed to prevent victory or create conditions for overturning victory by the opposition Cambodia National Rescue Party (CNRP) at national elections scheduled for 2018”.

Hun Sen and his government continue to Attacks on the Political Opposition, Jailing of President Kem Sokha, Attacks on Land Activists, Attacks on Labor Activists, Attacks on Human Rights Organizations and Attacks on Public Intellectuals. This activities must be stop!!!

On 12 September 2017, Sam Rainsy created an “Association for Democracy in Cambodia”, and since then he travelled to New Zealnad and Australia, met with Cambodian Community and Australian Federal Members of Parliament.

At the event, Sam Rainsy called on the Cambodian government to release H. E Kem Sokha, to release all political prisoners, NGO and land activists…

Sam Rainsy is a hero to many Cambodian, he gave us hope, when there is none, he shade the light when there is darkness, he is our strong leader when we need guidance, he sacrificed everything but ask for nothing in return. His action has inspired many.

As the struggle for democracy in Cambodia continue, more and more Sam Rainsy becomes the symbol of hope and the symbol of democracy in Cambodia.
