On September 28, 2025, I Trooper Russell, was running stationary radar on U.S. Highway 167 in Jackson County, facing northbound. I observed a small passenger car approaching from the rear that appeared to be traveling above the posted speed limit of 60 miles per hour. I activated my radar, and it confirmed the vehicle was traveling 70 MPH. I proceeded to make a traffic stop on the vehicle that displayed BEI01K. The driver was later identified as Shawn Crowe. I activated my lights and siren. The vehicle increased its speed, continuing north on U.S. Highway 167, reaching speeds of 130 MPH as it entered White County. We continued north, approaching Siler Road, where Crowe drove into the southbound lanes of travel. We turned west onto Scoggins Road and continued west onto Babb Road until it intersected with State Highway 157. We turned south on State Highway 157, traveling a short distance before turning west onto Roosevelt Road. I attempted a Tactical Vehicle Intervention (T.V.I.) that was unsuccessful at the State Highway 157 and Roosevelt Road intersection. Crowe continued through several other county roads before turning west onto State Highway 87 and traveling a short distance before turning north onto Camp Takodah Road. Crowe traveled down Camp Takodah Road reaching speeds of 100 MPH. Crowe turned east onto Wagon Wheel Road, continuing to drive very recklessly. Crowe continued a short distance before jumping out of the vehicle while it was still moving.

As he fled on foot to the north, the car came to a stop in a group of small trees. roadway colliding with a tree. I proceeded to call the passenger out of the vehicle. I gave him commands to get out of the vehicle and get on the ground. After clearing the vehicle, I placed him in custody without incident. I could smell an immediate strong odor of intoxicants coming from the subject. This subject was later identified as Camron Stepps. I performed a vehicle search and located a stun gun in the center console along with Marijuana. There was an open beer can containing alcohol in the front seat's cup holder that was cold to the touch. I also located an empty 99-proof small bottle of liquor lying on the driver's floorboard. In the back seat, there was a blue and white cooler with 2 unopened beers cold to the touch. There was a small toolbox in the back seat that contained tattoo ink and needles.

The passenger was transported to Jackson County jail. All of the seized evidence will be held in the Arkansas State Police Troop B evidence locker. Passengers Charges: 5-71-212 - DRINKING IN PUBLIC OR DRINKING ON A HIGHWAY 5-71-218 - OPEN CONTAINER CONTAINING ALCOHOL IN MOTOR VEHICLE

The driver will be charged through the felony affidavit process with the following charges: 5-54-125 (d)(5)(A) - FLEEING - FELONY - VEHICLE OR CONVEYANCE - EXCEEDING SPEED LIMIT - EXIT FLEE ON FOOT 27-50-308(b)(1)(B) - RECKLESS DRIVING 27-51-201 - SPEEDING - 1 TO 15 MPH OVER LIMIT 27-37-702 - No Seatbelt 27-16-303 - DRIVING ON SUSPENDED LICENSE 5-71-218 - OPEN CONTAINER CONTAINING ALCOHOL IN MOTOR VEHICLE 5-64-419(b)(5)(A) - POSSESS CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE SCHED VI 4 OZ 5-71-212(c) - DRINKING IN PUBLIC OR DRINKING ON HIGHWAY 5-54-125 (c) FLEEING ON FOOT
