Yet another UV5R variant from the budget ham handheld radio maker. Some call it Baofeng, some call it Pofung. I don't give a banana what it's called but here's my review. Don't let the model numbers or revised design confuse you. It is just a UV5R with 'funny' LCD display. Same power, same bands, same battery capacity and same antenna. (slightly different belt clip)

A few rather annoying changes such as a different desktop charger and massive side buttons which I dislike. If you want to use a headset you'd better just rip off the plastic cover on the side. It's just far too big and get in the way of everything. Compatibility with UV5R accessories will be an issue and I'm surprised the factory has not thought about that. Forget about the large 3800mAh battery as these new models can't use them. I also forgot to mention in the video that there's a problem with fitting some after market antennas.

In my honest opinion last year's Baofeng UV5Rx is just as good as these newer models.
