One of us couldn't stand upright in the Ambulander due to limited headroom. So, we came up with a plan to increase the roof height by 12" (30 cm). This involves cutting the roof along the top horizontal beam and adding a metal frame.

In the first step of raising the roof, we are getting the metal frame ready to be sent to a professional welder -we do not have the necessary equipment or skills to weld aluminum. We have decided to construct the frame using 2" square aluminum tubing. The studs connecting the top and bottom beams will measure 8" (20 cm) in height.

Solvable Acetone for cleaning and degreasing aluminium before welding
