Crohn's disease is characterized by development of apthous ulcers that progress to form serpentine ulcers.

Crohns disease most commonly affect ileum, ceacum and ileocecal valve in the form of skip lesions.

Microscopically, Crohns disease is characterized by Transmural inflammation causing pathy ulceration of Mucosa ; and there may be Epithelial metaplasia as well.
