In this video I'll discuss Project Folder templates--not the most exciting content but implementing these tools will give you substantial relief down the road. The one I provided is comprehensive for larger projects and can be overkill for smaller assignments. I suggest you make another version that's stripped down for smaller noodles. Essentially, I threw the kitchen sink at it.
Why use a project template?
1. By using a template it assures every project structure is the same that way you can open up a year old project and know where everything is.
2. The software creates relative links, which is important, so if you move the project your shots aren't broken.
3. Project templates make archiving large projects easy because resources are encapsulated.
4. Lastly, clients will love you and other editors, motion designers, and animators will appriciate it.
So with that being said lets look at the folder, the included templates, and how the structure operates.
