Built My Portfolio Into A 3D Space Game with React Three Fiber R3F + Three.js + React.

I Hated My Portfolio, So I Built a 3D Cosmic World Instead. 🚀

Every developer has a portfolio, but I was so tired of the same old scrolling pages, endless text, and static links. They felt like tax forms, not demonstrations of creativity.

I wanted mine to reflect how I truly think as a developer: curious, playful, and always challenging the boundaries.

That frustration led to The Space Dock 🌌 my mission to transform a stagnant portfolio into a genuine journey.

Instead of a website, you enter a 3D cosmic environment. Every skill and project I've ever tackled isn't listed; it lives as a planet in space. Recruiters and peers don't just read my work, they explore it like a mission. You can click on any planet to open a detailed view of the project, the tech I used, and the story behind its creation. The whole portfolio becomes an adventure that turns my growth into something truly memorable.

The user experience was just as critical as the idea. I wanted the exploration to feel natural, like a game, so I designed joystick-style camera controls. I polished the entrance with cinematic loaders, glow effects, and smooth animations to make the whole experience feel larger than life. And of course, everything is responsive and optimized across desktop, tablet, and mobile.

On the technical side, I leaned on my favorite tools: React, React Three Fiber, Three.js, Framer Motion. But honestly, what excites me most is that this portfolio represents me not just the code I write, but the storyteller who loves merging creativity with technology.

This project wouldn't be this polished without the constant guidance of my brother, Mujahid Mohammed Zubair M. He challenged every idea and pushed me to see this as more than just a student project. He helped me build a unique brand.
