How To: Install Aftermarket Footwell Lights into a VW T6 Transporter!!

This 27-minute guided walkthrough will teach you the full process from start to finish on, "How To" Install Aftermarket Footwell Lights in a VW T6 or T5.1 Transporter (as the process is basically the same).

There are 6 main points to get your teeth into as well as an introduction and a sign-off, so if this is something that you feel that you could Do Yourself (DIY), then why not give it a go!

00:00 - Start of Video.
Step 1 - 02:45 – Cut out the plastic blanks CAREFULLY.
Step 2 - 06:32 – Neatly secure the cable & fit the LED into the new cut-outs.
Step 3 - 09:13 – Neatly secure & route the cable towards the light switch and correctly position the LED.
Step 4 - 12:14 – Remove the light switch and connect the power cable to PIN 10 (Illumination Circuit) (VW Only).
Step 5 - 18:10 – Splice the two wires together, make good with solder or crimp and cloth tape back over the connection to avoid any bare wire issues.
Step 6 - 21:43 – Peel back the carpet and secure the ground to the chassis.

Switch on the light switch and observe your handy work (Hopefully they are working!)

This week, Richard is working on a 2015 VW T6 Transporter and talks you through each of the steps from removing the dash and routing the cables through to connecting the power to the illumination circuit behind the light switch.

There are only a few slight differences when installing into a VW T5.1 and VW T6 however most of the process would remain the same.
