Culture is important in every relationship especially for couples with different cultural backgrounds in order to navigate intercultural marriage challenges and differences. One needs to be open-minded and willing to accept the different way of life of the foreign spouse.

Here, we let you into our mixed-cultural background, and how we navigate our daily family life in the multicultural city of Dubai. We discuss mainly about the challenges of being in intercultural interracial marriage as well as raising third culture kids (TCKs). Our biracial children are of European and African descent, specifically German and Igbo Nigerian ethnicity respectively. Interestingly, our third culture mixed race kids also gravitate towards the Arab culture as they spend the formative part of their lives here in the United Arab Emirates.
