Troy Swift, a first-generation farmer in Caldwell County, Texas, turned to regenerative farming to save his orchard, Swift River Pecans, from collapsing. By using grazing, no-till planting, and limited pesticides, he has restored the health of the soil, resulting in record pecan harvests. The Noble Research Institute is conducting a six-year study on the impacts of regenerative farming on soil health, and Swift River Pecans is one of their test subjects. The study aims to answer key questions about the practice, such as whether it improves soil health and leads to healthier plants and nuts.
