NEET 2026 aspirants who are planning to take admission in BAMS (Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery) must know about a big update in eligibility rules. Hemant Sir explains that from NEET 2025 onwards, two important conditions have been removed only for BAMS. Earlier, students in the General category needed at least 50% marks in PCB (Physics, Chemistry, Biology), and students in SC, ST, or OBC categories needed 40%. But now, even if your PCB marks are below this, you can still appear for BAMS counselling, as long as you pass Class 12 and qualify for NEET.

This rule change does not apply to MBBS or BDS. Their eligibility criteria remain the same. Students should still focus on preparing well for NEET, but those aiming for BAMS now have one less worry about board exam percentages. This update gives more students a fair chance to join the field of Ayurveda through NEET counselling.
