Hi, मैं Dr. Supriya Puranik हूं, IVF Consultant और Gynaecologist, और आज हम बात करेंगे Tumor Markers के बारे में। कई बार जब सोनोग्राफी रिपोर्ट में Ovarian cyst या Ovarian tumor दिखता है, और उसका साइज 6 cm से बड़ा होता है या उसमें solid components नजर आते हैं, तब डॉक्टर कुछ blood tests करवाने को कहते हैं, इन्हें ही हम Tumor Markers कहते हैं।

Tumor Markers – ये टेस्ट होते कौन से हैं?
जब Ovarian cyst या suspicious tumor दिखाई देता है, तो डॉक्टर आपको ये blood tests लिख सकते हैं:
CA-125
Serum Beta-hCG
Alpha-Fetoprotein (AFP)
CEA (Carcinoembryonic Antigen)
LDH (Lactate Dehydrogenase)
इन tests का मकसद होता है ये समझना कि वो cyst या tumor:
Cancerous है या नहीं, और अगर है, तो वो किस तरह के cells से बना है।

Ovarian Tumors के अलग-अलग types क्या होते हैं?
Ovarian tumors कई तरह के हो सकते हैं, जैसे:
Germ Cell Tumors
Dysgerminoma
Serous Cystadenoma
इनमें से हर एक tumor का behavior अलग होता है। Tumor markers से हमें ये अंदाज़ा लग सकता है कि tumor किस category में आता है और आगे इसका इलाज किस direction में जाएगा।

क्या Positive Tumor Marker का मतलब है कैंसर?
नहीं, ऐसा नहीं है। Positive marker का मतलब ये नहीं कि आपको कैंसर है। Example के लिए – CA-125 एक ऐसा marker है जो ovarian cancer से link किया जाता है, लेकिन ये कई और conditions में भी बढ़ सकता है:
Pelvic infection
Endometriosis
Fibroids
Polycystic Ovarian Disease (PCOD)
Liver cirrhosis
तो अगर report में कोई marker elevated है, तो घबराने की ज़रूरत नहीं है। ये सिर्फ एक signal है कि और evaluation की ज़रूरत है।

Blood Test करवाना क्यों ज़रूरी है?
क्योंकि ये टेस्ट हमें help करते हैं diagnose करने में कि:
Tumor benign है या malignant
कौन सा treatment best रहेगा — surgery, medication या observation
बहुत बार ऐसा भी होता है कि reports में marginal elevation आता है, जो cancer नहीं, बल्कि किसी infection या inflammation की वजह से होता है।

Agar test positive आए, तो क्या करना चाहिए?
Panic मत करो, खुद से assumptions मत लगाओ, अपनी report लेकर सीधे doctor से consult करो| Doctor आपको guide करेगा कि क्या करना है – further tests, monitoring या treatment
हर elevated value का मतलब serious illness नहीं होता।

Tumor Marker से क्या फायदे हैं?
Early indication मिल जाता है कि tumor benign है या suspicious
सही time पर सही decision लिया जा सकता है, IVF या fertility planning में कोई complication हो तो पहले ही उसका idea मिल सकता है

अपने doctor से हर doubt क्लियर करो, और treatment decision उसी के साथ मिलकर लो।
