Complete DIY step by step instruction on how to remove the intake air manifold for cleaning from a Mitsubishi Pajero - diesel with a fuel injected 4M4 engine.
This clean was done on a 2007 NS Pajero.
Also applies to Mitsubishi Showgun with a 4M4 engine.

See the common build up of carbon soot from exhaust gas recirculation with oil mist, causing a loss of engine power performance. Restore diesel engine power by cleaning the air intake manifold.

The video breaks down the air manifold removal into three phases.
Phase 1: Setup
1. Get the gasket and oven cleaner
2. Remove second battery
3. Remove engine cover
4. Clean engine bay

Phase 2: Upper intake manifold removal
1. Remove main battery
2. Disconnect intake air hose
3. Remove top engine bracket
4. Remove EGR + pipe
5. Remove fuel filter
6. Remove throttle valve
7. Remove upper air intake manifold

Phase 3: Lower intake manifold removal
1. Remove fuel lines
2. Remove fuel common rail
3. Remove lower intake manifold

Phase 5: Re-assembling will be showed in a separate video

Phase 6: Starting car and test drive results will be showed in a separate video
