Evolution In Motion - SCD

Dance created by Gemma Bonner and Jaéda Nembhard, commissioned by The London Festival of Architecture (LFA) 2024. Premiered at the event's launch in central London on 30th May 2024 and then featured as part of London Borough of Sutton LFA and Reimagine events on 22nd June 2024.

Featuring dancers from SCD Street Crews and Adult Contemporary class as well as recorded voices from across the SCD community - voices belonging to people from age 4 to 75.

The piece helps explore the interaction between architecture and people; asking 'what are we building?'. Calling the dancers and audience to choose positivity, hope and love as we, together, build a better future.

We build the better future by ensuring our built environment exists to truly serve the citizens - not dominating but enabling. Built to create safe places, adventure, opportunities to dwell, dream and create together.
