DIY - 2014 Kia Sportage 2.0 CRDI: Diagnose and rebuild (repair) a dragging rear brake caliper

Описание к видео DIY - 2014 Kia Sportage 2.0 CRDI: Diagnose and rebuild (repair) a dragging rear brake caliper

A few days after changing the rear rotors and pads, I noticed a temperature difference of 20 - 40 deg. C between the rear rotors. I investigated the issue and found the rear left caliper piston to be dragging due to rust from a pinched dust seal. After rebuilding the caliper with OE parts, the problem was gone and the car returned a nearly 10 % improvement in fuel consumption.
OE part codes:
- Caliper piston: 582351H000
- Caliper inner seal: 582321H300
- Caliper outer seal (dust seal): 582331H000
- Crush washers for the brake line banjo bolt (2 pcs): 1751210000
