Class IX English The Fun They Had: It is a science fiction written an American Writer Issac Asimov (1920-19920). The story takes us into the future schooling system where there will be no human teachers. Robots will be teacher and any room may serve as classroom. Study will be done through tele books . Summary;
It is the year 2157 and Margie mentioned in her diary about a very old book that her neighbour Tommy had found on the attic in his house. The old book explains the old schooling system during the ages of almost fifth generation when there were human teachers and kids went to school building to study. Margie hated the robotic mechanical teacher and the regular question in geography that the machine teacher gave her. She was happy when the there was fault with the machine and expected that the County Inspector would not be able to mend it and the robot would be taken away for at least a month to repair it.
Margie was very surprised to hear all about the old schooling system. In the mean time her mother reminds that it was school time then and she got into her schoolroom just beside her bedroom. She was getting instructions from her robot teacher but she was lost in the imagination world - the old school building, the kids sitting together . helping one another in doing homework, and the fun it would be when being together learning same thing from a human teacher and playing together in school yard...And the fun they had! At this point the story ends.
