Zooarchaeology: Identification of Animal Remains

This video discusses some of the very general criteria that help zooarchaeologists identify the genus or species, sex, and age of animal remains, and how to form a zooarchaeological reference collection. It also introduces the terms used to orient animals and their parts, including bones, teeth, helicone and bivalve shells, and fish otoliths.
