Manned Locomotives Shoving Trains In Both Directions! Big Train With DPU & Manned Locos! Cowan, Tn

Steep Grade In Cowan, Tennessee That Needs Manned Locomotives Shoving Trains In Both Directions! This Is A CSX Main Line With A Big Dip That You Can See. A Train With A DPU In The Middle Also Required 2 Pusher Locomotives On The Rear! This Is A Pusher District With A Steam Locomotive & Caboose On Display At The Train Station Museum. Includes Fast Coal Train Coming Up Grade At The Railroad Crossing In Town.
This train museum is next to a railroad crossing in this historic town in Southern Tennessee near the Georgia border. First we see a couple of manned pusher locomotives passing after shoving a train up the grade in town. Then we see a coal train booking through town and the grade is noticeable in the video. Next is a combination auto racks and intermodal train.
Then we see another combination auto racks and intermodal train. This train had 2 manned pusher locomotives on the rear that cut off while the train was in motion. The locomotives cut off just before they got to the railroad crossing and made a loud boom sound with the freight cars when they cut off.
They stopped near the crossing to wait for the train to clear the block. After the train cleared the block the 2 locomotives went across the crossing and got on a different track and waited for a train coming in the opposite direction. They tied onto the huge train that also had a mid train DPU working hard. This was an awesome train as it went past us with the helper locomotives shoving the rear. If you look closely you can see the crew in the locomotives. This was exactly the type of train that we came here hoping to see. A man who used to work for CSX told us about Cowan when we were at the Tennbridge in Chattanooga. I rode here with Scott, @1960gambit and we stayed 3 nights in Chattanooga to film trains in the area including Georgia. I will also have videos from Debutts Yard and Dalton, Georgia. This is my 3rd video to post from this trip. The best radio frequency for this area is 161.370 which is an old L&N frequency.
