World Youth Skills Day

A country’s youth is an asset to that country and providing young people with job-related skills assists a country in addressing current and future challenges. But, young people are nearly three times more likely to be unemployed than adults, and they are subjected to lower-quality jobs, greater labor-market inequalities, and more insecure school-to-work transitions.
To raise the hope of reducing unemployment among the youth across the globe, the UN declared July 15th as World Youth Skills Day in 2014. This day highlights the importance of vocational education, training, and youth development globally.
On July 15th, 2015, Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister of India, launched a Skill India Mission to empower the youth skill and make them more productive in their work environment. NSDC aims to promote skill development by catalyzing the creation of large, quality, and for-profit vocational institutions.
