FROM THE WIKI:
The series centered on the weekend life of four racially-diverse middle schoolers: Tino Tonitini (voiced by Jason Marsden), Lor MacQuarrie (voiced by Grey DeLisle), Carver Descartes (voiced by Phil LaMarr), and Petratishkovna "Tish" Katsufrakis (voiced by Kath Soucie). The show typically addresses issues faced by children, and ends with morals, most often regarding honesty and teamwork. Doug Langdale stated that the main theme of the series is friendship, and how it requires work to maintain it.[1] The characters reside in Bahia Bay, based on San Diego where Langdale was raised.[1]

Despite having four school-aged children in the main roles, the show rarely touches on aspects of school life, as stories nearly always begin on Friday afternoon and end on Sunday evening. The few exceptions cover the aftermath on Monday morning, usually only if the plot relates to homework or other school activities.

Tino is the lead character, and most episodes are told from his point of view. Tino often breaks the fourth wall and speaks directly to the viewer about what's going on à la Greek chorus. However, other members of the gang will take his place from time to time, especially if the episodes revolve around them.

One of the notable facets of the series is that the characters change their clothes several times an episode, uncommon in animation.[1] The series' creator elaborated this was done to provide a sense of realism, as he did not want the characters to reuse wardrobes for the entire weekend. However, he conceded this proved to be expensive and prevented the crew from reusing shots from previous episodes due to the variety of clothing.[2]
