Welcome to El Tatio Geyser field in the Atacama Desert, Chile.

I arrived here at 7am in the morning where the temperatures were below freezing (-10c), on some occasions it can reach -30 degrees Celsius. Arriving this early we were able see the hot water vapor pouring out from each geyser scattered across the magnificent dry field.

El Tatio is 3rd largest geyser field in the world after Yellowstone and Kamchatka in Russia and the geyser field has been consistently bubbling above Earth’s crust for over 20,000 years.

Watch your step and follow the path, 4 people died here falling into the deathly hot water. ☠️
