This is the 6th video of the Kendo Principles series released by E-BOGU. It explains in full details all 9 Katas of the "Bokuto Ni Yoru Kendo Kihon Waza Keiko Ho". Is most organizations, these Katas are becoming requirements for the promotion exam, especially fro Kyu ranks.


Bokuto Ni Yoru Kendo Kihon Waza Keiko Ho are basic movements (Kata) of Kendo, developed by the All Japan Kendo Federation (AJKF). It incorporates the Fundamental Techniques of Kendo and it is composed with 9 movements. The receiver side is the Motodachi and the attacker side is called Kakarite. The 9 movements are the following:


Kihon 1 - Ippon uchi no waza: Men, Kote, Do (hidari), Tsuki
Kihon 2 - Ni-san dan no waza: Kote-men
Kihon 3 - Harai-waza: Harai-men
Kihon 4 - Hiki-waza: Hiki-do
Kihon 5 - Nuki-waza : Men nuki-do
Kihon 6 - Suriage-waza: Kote suriage-men
Kihon 7 - Debana-waza: Debana-kote
Kihon 8 - Kaeshi-waza: Men kaeshi-do
Kihon 9 - Uchiotoshi-waza: Do uchiotoshi-men

Kendo Principles VI explains the “Bokuto ni Yoru Kendo Kihon Waza Keikoho” (“Basic Kendo Techniques Training Method with the use of Bokuto”) in details. It is a perfect source to learn this Training Method correctly, for daily practices or last minute preparation for Dan promotion examinations. This DVD illustrates correct examples, and incorrect moves which are common to new students.

This DVD can also be a useful source for self training guide for Kenshis who want to learn the proper “Bokuto ni Yoru Kendo Kihon Waza Keikoho” in depth. Kendo Principles VI is all narrated in English, for easy understanding and the camera is taken from various angles.
