Pasang Lhamu is National Geographic's People's Choice Adventurer of the Year. She is the first female mountaineering instructor in Nepal and one of the first Nepali women to reach the summit of K2, a climb which she was dedicated to climate change awareness.

A Nepali Sherpa mountaineer, Pasang Lhamu is National Geographic's People's Choice Adventurer of the Year. She is the first female mountaineering instructor in Nepal and one of the first Nepali women to reach the summit of K2, a climb which she was dedicated to climate change awareness. As well as mountaineering in Nepal, she has guided mountaineering in USA, Argentina, France and Pakistan. She is also active in earthquake relief in Nepal, distributing blankets, helping make shelters for people that the 2015 Nepal earthquake had left homeless. In addition to this, she is also developing a foundation to assist women's education in Nepal.
