Anthony Sinisuka Ginting (born 20 October 1996) is an Indonesian badminton player.[1] He first rose when he won the bronze medal at the Badminton at the 2018 Asian Games

Early life
The badminton player who was born in Cimahi, of Karo descent, was introduced to badminton by his father when he was still in kindergarten. He is the fourth of five children. As a child he joined PB SGS PLN, a badminton club that fostered Indonesian badminton legend Taufik Hidayat to be precise in Bandung, West Java. He only started participating in tournaments at the age of about 9 years, or two years after he was scouted. Ginting was inspired by the Indonesian legend Taufik Hidayat, the 2004 Olympic champion and 2005 world champion from Indonesia.[2]

2019-2020 :Finalists in five tournaments and Second title in Indonesia Masters
Ginting kicked-off the 2020 season in Malaysia Masters as eight seed. Unfortunately, he was defeated by unseeded player Huang Yuxiang in the first round in straight games.[9] A week later, in home soil Indonesia Masters tournament, he finally clinched his first title since the 2018 China Open. Ginting defeated the defending champion Anders Antonsen of Denmark in the final.[10] In February, he helped the Indonesian men's team defend the Asia Team Championships title.[11] Ginting reached a career high as world number 3 in the world ranking on 18 February 2020.[12] In March, the fourth seed Ginting, fell in the early round of Super 1000 tournament All England Open to Rasmus Gemke of Denmark. This is for the fifth time, he has defeated in the early round of the historical tournament All England Open, since his debut in 2016.[13]

2021
In 2021, Ginting competed at the 2020 Asian Leg tournament held in Thailand as a fifth seed. At the Yonex Thailand Open, he lost to Viktor Axelsen of Denmark in the semi-finals,[14] while in Toyota Thailand Open he lost to Lee Cheuk Yiu of Hong Kong in the second round.[15] Ranked as number 9 in the season-end ranking, Ginting then secured a spot to compete at the World Tour Finals.[16]

Kento Momota (桃田 賢斗, Momota Kento, born 1 September 1994) is a Japanese badminton player. He is known to have a skillful and relentless play style on court. He has won several major badminton tournaments including two World Championships titles, two Asian Championships titles, and one All England title. Momota entered into Guinness Book of World Records for "The most badminton men's singles titles in a season", for his achievements by winning 11 titles in the 2019 season.[1]

2020
Momota began the 2020 season as the men's singles world number 1. He competed at the Malaysia Masters as the first seeded, defeated Indian's Kashyap Parupalli and H. S. Prannoy in the first and second round with two straight games, later in the quarter final beat Huang Yuxiang in the rubber games.[14] In the semi final, he dashed the host's hopes by bowing Lee Zii Jia with the score of 21–10, 21–19.[15] Despite not being at his physical best, Momota pulled off a good show to beat the 2017 World Champion Viktor Axelsen of Denmark 24–22, 21–11 in the final. He extended his head-to-head record over Axelsen to a whopping 14–1.[16] After winning the Malaysia Masters, Momota was involved in an accident on the way to the airport. He suffered a broken nose as well as injuries to his lips and face.[17]

2021
In January, Momota tested positive for COVID-19 prior to travelling to Bangkok. As a result, the entire Japanese team withdrew from the three tournaments scheduled to occur that month in Thailand: the Yonex Thailand Open, Toyota Thailand Open, and World Tour Finals.[18] In March, Momota made a comeback to international competition from injury at the All England Open. Played as top seed, he was beaten by Lee Zii Jia of Malaysia in the quarter finals in straight game.[19]
