A Career in the Foreign Office: What it's Really Like to be a Diplomat

Описание к видео A Career in the Foreign Office: What it's Really Like to be a Diplomat

Carolyn Davidson, British Consul-General-designate Osaka Japan, is in discussion with Keele's Dr Lorna Lloyd, Honorary Senior Research Fellow in International Relations.

Ms Davidson joined the then FCO in 1986 and most recently served as British ambassador to Guatemala and Honduras, before which she was high commissioner to Zambia. She shared these roles with her husband, Tom Carter as the UK's first ever job-sharing head of mission. She has also had postings in Tokyo, Brussels, Bonn, Bangkok and Bratislava, as well as various roles in London. Ms Davidson's talk is followed by a Q&A session.

Enjoy to hear Carolyn share her journey within the Foreign Office, how her career blossomed and hear demystify what it is really like to be a diplomat.
