When Richard Egarr, conductor and keyboard player, heard on the radio a brilliant recording of Tchaikovsky's "Marche Slave" conducted by Stokowski, he became an instant fan of the great maestro. So much so that in 2008 he gave a concert with the Flemish Radio Orchestra entitled "A Tribute to Stokowski." This included several of Stokowski's famous transcriptions of baroque works, as well as the Belgian première of Vaughan Williams 9th Symphony, a work which Stokowski had introduced to America in 1958.

With the same orchestra, labelled as the Brussels Philharmonic, Richard Egarr also recorded a CD of several Stokowski arrangements, including the Bach Toccata and Fugue in D minor, along with the "Marche Slave" which had kick-started his admiration of the great conductor in the first place. From that CD, entitled "An Evening with Leopold Stokowski," comes his brief but eloquent transcription for full orchestra of Palestrina's "Adoramus Te." (Glossa CD: GDSA 922209).
