Is it worth going to Okinawa in winter?

Okinawa can be cool in winter actually. Pools are closed. Should we still go to Okinawa in winter? I had a chance to visit Miyakojima island in mid December, and explored the island.

I went to several different locations in Miyako island (Miyakojima) and surrounding islands.

What to know about Miyakojima
Miyakojima is attractive because of its strong access from Tokyo by having two airports in the region. The beaches of Miyakojima is more beautiful with white powdery sands, comparing with beaches of Okinawa main islands or Ishigaki Islands.

Miyakojima is
good for who likes ...
Nature, casual resort stay, a peaceful time in the small country side island.

Not for who likes ...
1. Activities- such as sight seeing. You can enjoy more in Okinawa main island.
2. Party- Few night seen in Miyakojima, if you want to dress up and go out, stay in the Naha in Okinawa main island, or ... maybe that's not what you can expect in Japan.
3. Luxury hotel stay. Tokyu Hotel is not 5 star. No room service, no pool service. Definitely not for executives who are used to 5 star class service in Bali or Thailand. Miyakojima still lucks the number of hotels until they open Hilton and Rosewood. Meanwhile, I recommend you to go to Okinawa and stay at Halekulani.
