Описание к видео Metroid II/2 (1991) | Wranker 4K Gameboy Real Hardware 100% Playthrough | Retrotink 4K

Full playthrough of Metroid II: Return of Samus, released in 1991 for the Nintendo Gameboy, played on the Super Gameboy 2.

Like the 1986 NES original, Metroid 2 was developed by Nintendo R&D1, with oversight from Gameboy creator Gunpei Yokoi. The game received mixed reviews on release, but in all honesty, I strongly disagree with the surprisingly negative reviews. I have only recently started playing the Metroid games after missing on them for many years, and I personally think Metroid 2 surpassed it's predecessor. Considering the low power of the Gameboy, Nintendo got the best visuals possible out of the handheld, with far more intricate gameplay, introducing mechanics such as Spider Ball, Spazer, and Space Jump, moves that would become staples of the series. Metroid 2 also enriched the story in the series setting up the events of Super Metroid (playthrough coming soon).

This is a 100% playthrough/walkthrough, getting all items and power ups. For transparency, while I would love to tell you I used my super gamer skills to memorize the game, I didn't, and I used the Nintendo Power guide to get through. I experienced a weird glitch at the Metroid Queen 02:50:37, the tiles seemed to become misaligned. I reloaded the save but it remained, if anyone knows what is going on there, I would love to hear your thoughts.

******* Notes on this Video *******
This playthrough was captured on real hardware using the Super Gameboy 2 using the default palette I finally received my RetroTink 4K from the states and used it in this video. It scales the game in a perfect integer aspect ratio, and I highly recommend it to retro game enthusiasts.

The gameplay was recorded in 4K, using the M.2 Avermedia 4K Live Gamer capture card, again, another great bit of equipment, and better than anything I have tried from Elgato.

I upload these playthroughs, mainly for real hardware footage preservation, which is why I use no watermarks or overlays and record the footage in integer scaled 4:3. Feel free to use it as you wish, all I ask, is you don't just reupload it in full. Credit to my main channel would be greatly appreciated, but not required. Youtube, obviously bit-crushes video and audio while compressing, so if you want the raw footage of this video, contact me.
