The song American Ripper was originally recorded and released on the Chris Violence album of the same name back in 2014. The album cover for the American Ripper album is a photograph taken February 8th, 2014 from inside the main drive wheels of the 4014 Big Boy with the side connecting drive rods removed when it was on a 24 hour layover in Colton, California on it's way to Cheyenne, Wyoming for restoration, after it had been pulled out of the Fairplex at the RailGiants Train Museum in Pomona, California where it had been stored since 1961. As a child, every summer my family went to the Los Angeles county fair held at the Fairplex and I spent my youth climbing all over the 4014. Back in the 1970's you could climb into the cab and even though you weren't supposed to climb on the engine. I did it anyway. To me, NOTHING represents HEAVY METAL more than the largest steam locomotive ever built and the single heaviest piece of land machinery to move under it's own power. Like me, It is an American Ripper
